Griffin Anthony’s soulfully expressive voice echoes other single-named greats: Marvin, Stevie, Jackson, and James. Hailed by critics as “hypnotic and contagious,” his warmth and compassion are as striking as his moniker. Griffin’s list of media appearances is an impressive one. From his regular features on national radio to an appearance on the CBS Morning Show, he continues to prove his clout in the musical community. Additionally, he’s appeared at slew of major outdoor festivals including Wanee, SunFest, Miami Music Festival and Carnaval on the Mile. Among the TV networks that’ve featured his songs are ABC, NBC, MTV, VH1, E!, TBS, TNT and Oxygen, to name a few.
Griffin released his full-length album, Crazy Ways, in January 2010 with the engineering skills of Grammy-winning Charles Dye and Grammy-nominated Dan Geary. Releasing to enthusiastic praise and reviews, the collection of ten personal yet accessible tunes carried him further into American households with more placements on hit television shows and independent films.
Winning “Best Vocalist” at the International Music Festival marked the next step in a successful year, and Griffin’s song Pieces (from the Crazy Ways album) was featured on NBC and the Tennis Channel. The year 2011 saw over 200 tour dates, inclusion in jukeboxes across the country, increased activity in television placements and song rotation in national retailers Home Depot, OfficeMax and Publix Supermarkets.
Griffin’s Live @ 305 EP was recorded on location at Kitchen 305 in Miami during a special New Year’s Eve show; iTunes highlighted the recording on its New Independent Releases list, opening fresh channels of exposure for his talent.
The Canyon, Griffin’s third EP was recorded at Grammy-winning George Noriega’s (Carlos Santana, Draco, Ricky Martin) Cutting Cane studio in Miami and released in 2012 as part of a private licensing project. The Canyon features 4 distinctly fresh songs that walk the Americana/ Pop line, marking an elevation of Griffin’s musical catalog to a more nuanced and advanced level of songwriting.
